GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS FOR INSTALLATION AND PREPARATION OF BASE SURFACES OF VOLTECH LINEAR MOVEMENT SYSTEMS

  • VOLTECH standard roller and ball carriages have ground base surfaces and a ground side base surface on one side.
  • Linear guides (rails) have ground base surfaces and two symmetrically located side base surfaces.
  • When mounting two or more carriages on one linear guide, the side reference surfaces of the carriages must be located on the same side.
  • The transport mandrel (mounting mandrel) must remain in the carriage until the carriage is completely on the rail! Otherwise, loss of rolling elements is possible.
  • The transport mandrel should also be used when the carriage is removed from the guide rail.
  • Carriages removed from the guide rails must always remain on the mandrel!
  • Install rail mounting plugs or protective tape before mounting the carriage!
  • Immediately before rolling the carriage onto the rail, lubricate the working edge of the carriage seal and the end chamfer of the guide rail with grease or oil.
  • Check that the carriage moves easily on the guide rail.
  • Then perform primary lubrication (see lubrication instructions)!
