RECOMMENDATIONS ON ACCURACY CLASSES FOR VARIOUS TYPES OF EQUIPMENT

The recommendations presented in the table are based on industry standards (ISO, DIN, GOST) for various types of equipment, practical experience in the use of linear motion systems, typical requirements for positioning accuracy, loads and operating speed.

Recommended combinations of accuracy classes:

Combinations for short strokes and small carriage spacing: carriages with a higher precision class than the linear guide. Combinations for long strokes and large carriage spacing: the linear guide has a higher precision class than the carriages.

Criteria for selecting the accuracy class of movement:

SP and UP precision class carriages provide unrivaled running accuracy thanks to improved ball entry and exit zones. These high-precision carriages are particularly suitable for high-quality machining processes, measuring systems, high-precision scanners, grinding systems, and more.

Optimization of running accuracy:

The following measures have a positive effect on the geometric nature of the stroke of profile linear guides:

  • Use of high-precision carriages and linear guides.
  • Using long carriages.
  • Installation of systems with two parallel guides or at least two carriages on a linear guide.
  • Using flange carriages in systems with only one linear guide.
  • Very high running accuracy can only be achieved if the attached structures are manufactured with strict tolerances in shape and position, and the surfaces are well finished.
