Preload and stiffness ratio
For a profile rail guide, it is recommended to select the appropriate preload based on the specific application requirements. This has a positive effect on the operation of the entire linear guide system. Preload increases the rigidity of the linear guides, thereby reducing deflection under load.
Creating a preload
The carriage preload is determined by the rolling element diameter. Using larger diameter rolling elements creates a certain carriage preload. Selecting balls and rollers with a diameter larger than the nominal size determines the preload.
Classification of rail guides by preload value
Depending on the preload value, VOLTECH profile rail guides are divided into different classes during manufacturing.
